Impulsive and intense.

Aren’t these good words to describe the middle school phase?  A middle schooler is a unique blend of confidence and insecurity – feeling passionate about something one day, and changing their mind about it the next.  So one of the most important things we can do is AFFIRM their personal journey.  Acceptance is their primary motivation.

The Grove’s Middle School Ministry has a meaningful worship experience – featuring a live band with students leading, engaging speakers, relevant small group discussions, and fun games.  All of this combines to help middle schoolers develop an authentic faith in God.

What We’re Doing

See what events we would love for your child to be a part of.

Sundays with Middle School

We meet from 9:15 – 10:45 AM in our student center located on The Hill.  Students come together to hear a Bible based message that is relevant to middle schoolers specifically.  Then, we break into Life Groups, which are led by caring adults who engage their few in a conversation about what they just heard, and how to apply God’s Word to their lives.  This is our main time for discipleship, and we believe the most effective environment for growth is small groups.

Wednesdays with Middle School

We meet from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in our student center located on The Hill.  We focus on engaging middle schoolers in 3 ways.

  • First, with music.  We have a live praise and worship band that features student musicians and vocalists.  Students leading students is powerful!
  • Second, with an energetic speaker.  Our messages on Wednesdays expand on what students learned on Sunday.  They are a little shorter and fast-paced, focused more on reproducing the main point from Sunday’s message, and on application.
  • Third, in Life Groups.  During this time, leaders are more relational than on Sunday.  Discussion with students is more about how they are applying God’s Word to their lives, and about prayer requests.
